Church of Scientology Controversy
In May 1991 Time featured an article on the origins and then-current controversies facing the Church of Scientology, a quasi scientific religious organization that was founded by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard. The article led to a libel lawsuit from the Church, which was dismissed in 2001 [1].
