"Sirius was founded in 1978 by former members of the Findhorn Community, an international intentional community in Scotland. Sirius is a spiritual community, educational center and ecovillage founded with the following purposes:
- "To build a Center of Light, a place of spiritual energy, positive vision, and hope for the world;
- "To be a non-profit educational center, offering programs for the public;
- "To support the spiritual growth of its members and visitors;
- "To honor the presence of the Divine within each person and within all life, and to see everyday life as our spiritual teacher; and
- "To be a center for the demonstration of attunement to nature, and a cooperative and ecologically based lifestyle; with organic gardening, recycling, and energy- efficient building." [1]
