Background

The project is being developed by Simhapuri Energy Private Limited (SEPL) in three phases. Phase I comprises 2 units of 150 MW; Phase II comprises two units of 150 MW each; and Phase II comprises two supercritical units of 660 MW each.[1][2]

Phase I, Unit 1 (150 MW) was commissioned on March 24, 2012,[3] and Phase I, Unit 2 (150 MW) was commissioned in July 2012.[4]

Phase II, Unit 3 (150 MW) was commissioned in February 2014.[5] As of March 2015 Phase II, Unit 4 (150 MW) is listed as synchronized.[6]

Phase III was issued a terms of reference in 2011,[7] which was renewed in September 2014.[8]
