Progress Media announced on 11 March 2004 that it has chosen Air America Radio as the name for its new progressive talk radio network.

"Air America Radio will provide a counterbalance to right wing voices," said Mark Walsh, Chief Executive Officer of Air America Radio network. "The top talent in the country is coming together to ensure Air America Radio provides the most compelling and entertaining programming on radio." [1] The following persons are the "on-air talent": Randi Rhodes,Janeane Garofalo, Sam Seder,Al Franken, Mike Malloy, and others.
