Background

The Sattupally Thermal Power Station is a proposed 600 megawatt coal-fired plant proposed by Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation in India. However, the proposal may have difficulties sourcing sufficient water supplies. On its website APGENCO notes that the "Irrigation Department informed that it may not possible to allocate water from Bolligattu reservoir. Alternative source of water is being identified."[1]
