Background

Sree Siva Satyadeva Power Plant was a 2000 megawatt (MW) coal plant proposed by Sree Siva Satyadeva Power Plant Pvt. for Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, for which plans were submitted to the Department of Industries. In December 2011, it was reported that the sponsors of the plant had abandoned the proposal in the wake of agitation in the region against thermal power plants.[1]
