National Taxpayers Union (NTU) is closely related to their 501(c)3 (i.e. non-profit) foundation, the 'National Taxpayers Union Foundation' (NTUF). According to the 990 forms of NTUF, the NTU and NTUF share staff, facilities and board members.

The NTU received in 1998 from Philip Morris $25,000 ([1], WRO refers to Philip Morris's Washington Relations Office). The Tobacco Institute budgeted for 1999 a donation to NTU of $10,000. [2]

The National Taxpayers Union made a statement that the government's antitrust case against Microsoft caused state pension funds to lose $38 billion. [3] Later, The Washington Post wrote on June 29, 2000 that Microsoft had given the National Taxpayers Union $215,000 in software over the two previous years. [4]
