Hi Myth buster,

Regarding PCRM,

On looking over the links you provided, I did not find any evidence to refute the health information provided by PCRM and it's references, both contained in the article and in the articles linking to it. In fact, some of the articles referenced not only CCF, but also the Dairy Council, Milk Pep and non-nutrition oriented organizations such as the AMA. I did not see a single reference for a clinical study. On the other hand, a single PCRM article contained 38 references, either for clinical studies or articles referring to studies on nutrition and disease.

The point of SW is not to create controversy by inserting unsubstantiated claims, opinions and points of view; but providing clear and factual information. If groups and lobbies representing wealthy and powerful industries cannot refute evidence, they tend to rely on various forms of disinformation, which can include censoring, marginalizing and smears.

It seems as if PCRM has made it's case very well. Naturally, groups such as CCF, the dairy promoting Milk-pep branch of the USDA and the National Dairy council would tend to "disagree". Furthermore, "Disinformation Campaigns" is a valid description of the activities industry funded front groups such as CCF. It is based on factual information and analysis; some of which is contained in CCF selected campaigns and other links on the page.

Lastly, this site has somewhat different standards, than Wikipedia, where it seems you cut and pasted most of your information from.

Regarding PCRM:

First, we do not include claims and smears by front groups such as Center for Consumer Freedom. I fail to see how you could not have noticed the several links on the page referring this group, which is well documented by this site.

Rather than sort through your edits, I reverted it to a previous edit. The diet information was already included in the article, along with numerous studies and links backing it up. Therefore, it is not a "claim" or an "opinion". Furthermore, there is also really no such thing as a "front group" for animal rights. This is more or less an invention of groups like Center for Consumer Freedom. Both PCRM and PETA are member funded charities, as opposed to corporations or industries. The fact that much of their work overlaps is neither surprising nor unusual. Much of their membership overlaps as well.

  • please do not be lazy and just 'revert' - valuable information has been added to the article, please do not delete it just because it 'offends' you. Cheers, MythBusterKel 03:51, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

There is also some information on the talk page regarding this issue. You obviously have some sort of a bone to pick with this group, or perhaps animal rights or vegetarianism in general. I suggest that this is not the site to work out these frustrations.

  • no bone, just reporting the facts and improving the article. The talk page does not shed light on much except for lots of deleting going on when you did not like the sound of it and others being opposed to your deleting & censoring. Cheers, MythBusterKel 03:51, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks again,
