Church of Scientology Controversy

In the May, 16th issue, Time featured an article on the origins and then-current controversies facing the Church of Scientology, a quasi scientific religious organization that was founded by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard. The article led to a libel lawsuit from the Church, which was dismissed in 1991 [1].
