Background

Dr. RKP Power Ankulapatur power station is a 120 megawatt (MW) coal plant proposed by Dr. RKP Power in Andhra Pradesh. A second phase of 300 MW is also being planned. On its website the company said that it is involved in land acquisition and preparing to apply for a Terms of Reference from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, the first stage in permitting.[1]
