Location

Background
The plant was built between 1952 and 1956 and became operational in 1954. The plant underwent modernization 1997-2001 when it was taken over by Vattenfall, and was later bought by PGNiG. The station has a heat generation capacity of 1,561 megawatts (MW) and an electric generation capacity of 350 MW. The most recent unit, unit 12, went into operation in 2009.[1]
