Background on Plant
The proposal is for a 1200 MW coal plant using coal from the Kara-Keche coal deposit. According to an April 2014 press report, the French company Alstom may participate in building a coal-fired power plant a Kyrgystan's Kara-Keche coal deposit. According to Marek Stec, President of Alstom Central Asia, China's Eximbank will "probably be interested in this project." Project sponsors will be announced after bids are received.[1][2]
