Background on Plant
The proposal is for a 1200 MW coal plant using coal from the Kara-Keche coal deposit. According to an April 2014 press report, the French company Alstom may participate in building the power plant. According to Marek Stec, President of Alstom Central Asia, China's Eximbank will "probably be interested in this project." Project sponsors will be announced after bids are received.[1][2]
