Brazos Electric Cooperative is the oldest and largest generation transmission and electric cooperative in the state of Texas and is headquartered in Waco. The company provides wholesale power to its sixteen member distribution cooperatives in Texas as well as two municipalities in the state.[1]
Along with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative the company has proposed a 750 MW coal-fired power plant in Ft. Townson, Oklahoma called Hugo 2. The company also created Brazos Sandy Creek to move forward with the proposed Sandy Creek Plant along with Dynegy / LS Power and several other companies.[2]
