Carol Moseley-Braun (1947- ) was a candidate for the presidency in 2004. Moseley-Braun served as United States Senator from Illinois from 1992 to 1998 and as U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand from 1999 to 2001. She is a former "County Executive Officer, State Representative, and Assistant United States Attorney." Since leaving her post in New Zealand, "she has taught law and political science at Morris Brown College and DePaul University, along with a business law practice and business consultancy in Chicago."[1]
