Center for the New American Century (CNAC) was a group that believed in limited government, lower taxes, and stronger families. Its former web site stated, "through seminars, reports, speeches, media appearances and advocacy, the Center shares its ideas with civic, business and government leaders as well as the public at large, [the mission of the Center is to promote] the ideas and values that will shape a free and prosperous America in the decades ahead. The Center engages citizens in discussions about limited government and lower taxes, economic growth and rising living standards, innovative government reforms, individual responsibility and strong families, and ensuring that the best traditions from our nation's founding are relevant to our future."[1]
