Background on Plant

Weishui Power Station was founded in 1943. It was expanded three times with five units in total. The plant's last four coal-fired units totaling 110MW were retired in 2009.[1][2] The plant is owned by China Datang.[3][4]

Description of Expansion

In 2006 Datang applied for two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 1,200 MW.[5] However there has been no activity since 2006, and the proposal appears to be cancelled.
