There is very little information in English on their web site but at the bottom of their homepage is a note that says: "POWRED BY WORDPRESS, DEVELOPED BY : ANHRI".
In February 2011, Amnesty International noted that Khaled Ali was the director of the Egyptian Centre for Economic and Social Rights. They also noted: "The two Amnesty International delegates were among about 30 detained during a raid by security forces on the Hisham Mubarak Law Centre (HMLC) in Cairo earlier today. They also include human rights activist Ahmed Seif Al Islam and Khaled Ali, director of the Egyptian Centre for Economic and Social Rights (ECESR)." [1]
2010 Arrests
An article published on January 19, 2010, noted that: "The Egyptian Centre for Economic and Social Rights submitted a complaint to the Attorney General and the Prosecutor General of Qena Prosecutions. The complaint accused Qena's head of security and head of state security investigations in Naga'a Hamadi of illegal arrest and detention of 17 bloggers and political activists on ridiculous charges including attempting to express their condolence to the families of the victims of Naga'a Hamadi's shootings."
