Ironbark No. 1 coal mine

The Ironbark No. 1 coal mine, formerly known as the Ellensfield Coal Project, is a proposed underground longwall mine 30 kilometres north-east of Moranbah, in the Bowen Basin, central Queensland, Australia.[1]
The mine is expected to have a 25 year life.[2]
Fitzroy Resources Australia plan to construct a gas-fired power plant (up to 20MW) to power the mine.[3]

Coal Mine Background
As of October 2019 Fitzroy is finalising the feasibility and approval processes.[1]
Fitzroy Australia Resources acquired Ironbark No.1, which neighbours Carborough Downs mine mine and the Broadlea project from Brazilian mining giant Vale in November 2016. Ironbark would share major infrastructure with Carborough Downs.[4]
Ironbark would become the first new development from a group of assets Fitzroy acquired from Brazilian miner Vale in November 2016.[5]
The final amendment to the Environmental Impact Statement was made on 11 September 2012.[6]
In 2010 an Environmental Impact Statement is currently being prepared for the project. The project will produce 4.5 million tonnes of thermal and coking coal.[7]
