Flying Hospital, Inc.
According to the website of the Christian Broadcasting Network, 'the Flying Hospital was an aircraft purchased by Operation Blessing and converted into a hospital for use to provide aid in civil emergencies.
"The Flying Hospital, the CBN website states, "was commissioned in 1996 by former President George H. W. Bush and took its first medical mission to El Salvador. The Flying Hospital was sold to a charitable not-for-profit organization in 2000. However, the Flying Hospital will continue to be an integral part of evangelistic missions with Operation Blessing International.*[1]
An article posted to the web by a person associted with the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary pondered on the possibilities offered by the Flying Hospital: "How much impact will this flying hospital have long-term on unevangelized peoples?," he asked.
Answering his own question, he suggested that "mission agencies should work with OB to learn in advance the schedule of the plane and determine the optimum methods for using mercy ministries to open doors for evangelism". [2]
