Geoff Dabelko "directs the Environmental Change and Security Program (ECSP), a nonpartisan policy forum on environment, population, and security issues located in Washington, DC at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He heads the program’s Navigating Peace Water Initiative, a multi-year effort focused on the future of water conflict and cooperation. His recent research has focused on environmental pathways to peace and confidence-building in publications such as Environmental Peacemaking (2002) co-edited with Ken Conca and the Wilson Center co-published UNEP report Understanding Environment, Conflict, and Cooperation (2004). He has held prior positions at the Council on Foreign Relations and Foreign Policy Magazine and was an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and the Monterey Institute for International Studies. He is incoming co-vice chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) and an advisory board member for the UN Environment Programme’s Environment and Conflict Prevention Initiative. He has a Ph.D. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and an AB in Political Science from Duke University." [1]
