The Hearst Corporation, headquartered in New York City, is a large, privately owned, media company. It owns twelve daily and eight weekly newspapers, and nearly 20 U.S. consumer magazines with nearly 200 international editions. It also owns TV and radio stations as well as cable networks. The Hearst family (from William Randolph Hearst) owns The Hearst Corporation with a board of trustees doing the managing. Top competitors are Advance Publications, Gannett, and McClatchy Company.
