The Hitachinaka power station is a 2,000MW coal-fired power station located at Tokai-mura, Naka-gun, Ibaraki, Japan.
It is also the site of the proposed 650 MW Hitachinaka Kyodo power station.

Background on Plant
The power station is owned by Tokyo Electric Power Company.[1]
Construction of the first unit (1,000 MW) began in July 1999 and was commissioned in December 2003.[2][3]
The commercial operation of Unit 2 of Hitachinaka Thermal Power Station (1,000 MW) commenced Dec 18, 2013.[4]
