Huadian Changji power station is a 910-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.

Background on Plant

The first two units of the power station, totaling 24 MW, were built in 1999 and retired in 2008. Units 3 and 4, totaling 250 MW, were brought online in 2006 and are located within the city. Units 5 and 6 (2 x 330 MW) were completed in 2011 but at a new location north of the city. Units 5-6 are also known as Huadian Changji-2 power station. The plant is owned by China Huadian.[1][2][3]

Units 3-4 were retired in May 2018.[4]
