Huaneng Linhe power station (华能北方联合电力临河热电厂), also known as the Kanawha power station, is a 600-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.

An additional 600 MW is proposed.

Background on Plant

The two existing coal-fired units of Huaneng Linhe power station, totaling 600 MW, were brought online in 2006-07. The plant is owned by China Huaneng.

Description of Expansion

Huaneng is currently planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 600 MW.

2016: Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity

Due to new restrictions announced during 2016 by the National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, further capacity expansions at this location appear to be on hold or cancelled.
