Jacques Gérin "is a civil engineer with a Master's degree in Regional Planning. Formerly with the Government of Canada, he was Vice President of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Deputy Minister of Environment Canada and Associate Deputy Minister of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development. In 1999, he chaired the Panel on Ecological Integrity of Canada's National Parks and has chaired the Joint Public Advisory Committee of the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation. He is Chairman of the Board of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and a Governor of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC)." [1]
