Jakob von Uexkull "is the founder of the World Future Council. He is also founder of Right Livelihood Award, and past Member of the European Parliament. From 1987 to 1989 he was a member of the Delegation for Relations with the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He is a former trustee of the New Economics Foundation, London, a patron of Friends of the Earth International, and a member of the Global Commission to Fund the United Nations. He has served on the Board of Greenpeace, Germany, and is on the Council of Governance of Transparency International. He lectures widely on sustainable development and peace issues." [1]
