Background on Project

Jiuquan Iron and Steel Company (JISCO) is planning to build a waste coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 600 MW in Gansu Province. The power plant is part of a coal-electricity-PVC production integrity project, with projected investment of ¥43.7 billion ($6.4 billion).

However, little progress on the project has been made since 2010, with no preliminary feasibility study yet. The project therefore appears to be deferred or abandoned.
