Kevin Martin (Peace Action)
Kevin Martin "became executive director of Peace Action and Peace Action Education Fund Sept. 4, 2001. Martin previously served as Director of Project Abolition from August 1999 through August 2001. Project Abolition was a national organizing effort for nuclear disarmament initiated by the Fourth Freedom Forum in Goshen, Indiana, with Peace Action, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Women's Action for New Directions, and other national peace groups.
"Martin came to Project Abolition after ten years in Chicago as Executive Director of Illinois Peace Action. In 1999 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from national Peace Action. Martin was recognized as a leading organizer in the Illinois peace movement, building coalitions, organizing demonstrations and conferences, and leading educational, advocacy and electoral campaigns on peace and disarmament issues.
"Martin graduated in 1984 from Pennsylvania State University, receiving a B.A. in International Politics. He currently lives in Silver Spring, Md. with his wife and two children." [1]
