Background

The power station has been proposed by SPML.

SPML, previously known as Subhash Projects and Marketing, is an Indian infrastructure development company with interests in water, power, infrastructure, manufacturing and technology projects.

However, as of 2014 the project has not received environmental permits, and may have been cancelled.
