Mike Harris "has been proprietor of his own management consultancy company for 25 years. In addition to his role as Treasurer of Comic Relief he is Chairman of the Governors of a large primary school, a business advisor to the Prince's Youth Business Trust and a Trustee and Treasurer of BAFTA.

"He is non-executive director of several media based companies. He is married to Wendy and they have three children and several dogs.In 2001 he stood as a Conservative party candidate in the General Election and finished second. He spends much of his spare time waiting on trains outside London Bridge Station for no apparent reason."
