Palmitic Acid is a saturated fatty acid with 16 carbons and no double bonds, which is commonly notated as C16:0 or simply 16:0. It is also called hexadecanoic acid. Its melting point is 62.9C and its boiling point is 167C.[1] Scientists have found that palmitic acid raises total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein (LDL).[2]
