Background on Plant

Chongxin power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,320 MW in Gansu Province. The plant was completed in 2010-2011, and is owned by Sinohydro, a subsidiary of PowerChina.[1][2][3][4]

Description of Expansion

PowerChina is currently planning to build additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW.[5][6] However, there is no further news since 2014.
