Prescott Sheldon Bush
Prescott Sheldon Bush was born May 15, 1895, in Columbus (Franklin County), Ohio, and died October 8, 1972, in New York City. Prescott married Dorothy Walker on August 6, 1921, in Kennebunkport (York County), Maine.[1]
Prescott's parents were Samuel Prescott Bush, born October 4, 1863, in Brick Church, New Jersey (died February 8, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio). Samuel married Flora Sheldon on June 20, 1894, in Columbus. Flora was born March 17, 1872, in Franklin, Ohio (died September 4, 1920) in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.[2]
Prescott S. Bush "received a B.A. from Yale University in 1917 and completed his Army career in 1919. Bush joined the firm of Brown Brothers and Company became a partner in 1930 ... A resident of Greenwich, CT, Bush was elected as a member of its representative town meeting. In 1933 he was elected as moderator, a post to which he was re-elected until his election to the United States Senate in 1952. Bush announced his intention not to run for re-election in 1961."[3]
Prescott S. Bush was the first in a line of Bush men who were tapped at Yale University to become members of the Skull & Bones Society. Prescott was followed by his son George Herbert Walker Bush and grandson George Walker Bush.
