Sheila Forbes
Sheila Forbes "is Principal of St Hilda’s College, Oxford. She was formerly a non-executive director of OCS Group Ltd and the Tribal Group, and a Civil Service Commissioner. She has also worked as an independent consultant on HR and organisational issues. In 2002 she was awarded the CBE for services to women in the workforce.
"Sheila spent the first 25 years of her career managing organisational change as a human resources professional in the private sector. She joined Philips Electronic in 1970, and became Personnel Director of Unigate plc in 1980. In 1988 she joined the Board of Storehouse plc, moving in 1992 to be Human Resources Director of Reed Elsevier, UK. She left in 1996 to become a non-executive director and consultant. From 1994-2000 Ms Forbes was a non-executive director of Lloyds TSB group from and a council member then Chair of the Board of the Institute for Employment Studies from 1992 - 2002.
