Background on Project

Shenhua Group (now National Energy Investment Group) has proposed a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 2,100 MW in Hunan Province.[1][2][3]

The plant was permitted in August 2014.[4][5]

The 13th Energy Five Year Plan (2016-2020) of Hunan province states the power station is planned for completion within the Plan period (by 2020).[6]

Planet satellite photos show little to no construction as of April 2018.

Construction was reported in October 2018.[7]
