It is operated by White County Coal, LLC, a subsidiary of [[Alliance Resource Partners]]. Construction of the complex began in 1980. The Pattiki complex utilizes continuous mining units employing room-and-pillar mining techniques to produce high-sulfur coal. The preparation plant has a throughput capacity of 1,000 tons of raw coal an hour. Coal from the Pattiki complex is shipped via the Evansville Western Railway.<ref>Patrick L.
