On its website KSK Energy Ventures states that coal for the project will be sourced from [[Western Coalfields]].<ref name="Thermal"/> In July 2007 the Ministry of Environment & Forests granted environmental clearance for the project, stating that coal for the project would be sourced from the [[Morga II Block]].<ref name="Moef"/>
