==Expansion==
An additional 500 MW subcritical unit (Stage III) was proposed at the Singrauli Super Thermal Power Station in August 2011,.<ref name=MOC>[http://coal.nic.in/cpd190811.pdf "Pending Application of SEBs up to 31st July 2011,"] Ministry of Coal, August 18, 2011</ref> but as of August 2015 has not received any environmental clearances, and appears to be shelved.
In October 2016 NTPC submitted a pre-feasibility report to expand the power station by two supercritical units of 660 MW each. The proposal for an additional 500 MW unit appears to have been dropped.<ref>[http://environmentclearance.nic.in/writereaddata/Online/TOR/10_Oct_2016_1313125874ZBW414KAnnexure-Pre-FR.pdf "Pre-feasibility report,"] NTPC, Oct 2016</ref> ==Project Details for Proposed 500 MW Expansion==
