Talk:Association of British Drivers
A number of references in this article were deleted by anonymous IP user 81.139.17.219 and replaced with text that amounts to a puff piece for the ABD. I've restored the original article and have moved the puff piece language here for now. See below. --Sheldon Rampton 12:15, 3 Feb 2005 (EST)
The ABD was formed in 1992 to campaign for drivers and riders. It does this by lobbying on their behalf at local and national level, speaking up for them whenever there’s a consultation, liaising with the media and producing regular publications.
It campaigns for:
- Real transport choice - Investment in our transport network - A better return on the £46bn tax paid each year by drivers - Effective road safety policies
For years UK transport policy has focused more on making mobility harder and more expensive. The ABD wants to see transport made effective, simple and cheap for everyone - a fairer deal that’s better for people and better for the economy.
Constitution
The ABD was incorporated as "Pro-Motor", company number 02945728, on 5 July 1994.
