Conflicting Retirement Dates

There seem to be conflicting date of retirement for Sheppard in different bio notes.

• the official National Guard bio here states he "Retired effective Sep 14, 2000";
• http://www.nordam.net/news/press_releases/docs/070704-1.html state he retired "from the Pentagon in 1998";
• http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/elite/aerospace_corp.htm same here

There's no obvious way (so far) from online sources to reconcile the difference.--Bob Burton 22:06, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
