There were a number of deceptions inflicted on voters during the 2008 election. Democratic voters received text messages announcing that voting had been extended through November 5. Flyers were circulated saying that Democrats vote on November 5. In Florida, Obama supporters received robo-calls telling them they could vote by phone. When the voters called the number provided an operator walked them through the voting process and told them they had voted and did not need to go to the polls.
