Talk:Is the Iraq mission a failure?

Before asking whether it was a failure or success, "it" ("the Iraq mission") needs a clear definition which includes an objective. Casual observers have noted that this mission changes each time it is exposed as being mired in fantasy rather than fact.

Now that Saddam is dethroned, the rest of the liberation seems to require exit of U.S. occupation troops, governors, and business enterprises.

Um... the phrase "each time it [the Iraq mission] is exposed as being mired in fantasy" does seem to pre-judge the mission in Iraq somewhat. I suspect this is not noted so much by casual observers as by those who oppose either the Bush administration or its policy in Iraq. A less "committed" observer might merely note that the goals seemed to be unclear or to change.

I know this isn't Wikipedia, and NPOV doesn't seem to be officially stated as policy - but fairness is, and if we produce something that feels too polemical, we weaken the project and its credibility to non-activists.
