Talk:Parents and Grandparents Alliance
A couple of queries:
1) the current description is that 'Parents and Grandparents' are a project of Accuracy in Media. I can't see any reference to it on AIM's website so I'm not sure it can be described as a project of AIM. I assume the basis of that statement is because of the role of Reed Irvine's son - that right?
2) While I can understand its listing under 'front groups' I can't see the evidence that it should be listed as an 'industry funded organisation'. (For example, for all we know it is funded by foundations). Is there any evidence that 'Parents and Gradparents Alliance' is industry funded? Or is that suggested on the basis that 'AIM is industry funded, Parent and Grandparents is a project of AIM therefore P&G is industry funded'?

My Thoughts
Well, to be completely honest, I know that the media is spreading propoganda and all that stuff. But seriously. One, you guys are either gullible or the people who you are using in your adds are not as smart as others. I would like to say that it is easier to find a scapegoat than to take the full blame. So these kids either decided to give that as an excuse or they are too stupid to know the difference between reality and TV or movies. So either way, according to Darwin, they should all be put in jail and sealed off from the rest of humanity. Personally, I listen to heavy metal music and watch movies. I stopped watching TV because it was a waste of time. I also play "violent video games". However, I am a very active Catholic teenager. I do volunteer work for my church, community service, I get to church each week, etc. I believe that if a person doesn't know the difference between their entertainment and reality, they shouldn't be getting that entertainment. I know that when I stop playing my games on the internet, that the "reality" I play in is gone and I'm back in my reality. I am not an idiot. I'm not darwinistic either (though I pointed him out earlier). I know I live a slightly different lifestyle than most teens, but seriously, if someone is not smart enough to figure out how precious life/virginity is, needs to be put in jail or deserves whatever punishment they get. They should be shot. But seriously, I am very anti-human stupidity and that is all I am seeing here. Human stupidity and ignorance. I want you guys to at least think for a minute about what it is you are "accusing" people of. The Parents and Grandparents Alliance is very ignorant and I want you to at least look at how many people you have who are STILL ALIVE AND HAVE THEIR VIRGINITY. There are, surprisingly enough, a $#!7 load of teens who are not that violent. And also, did you happen to notice that all of your accusations of teens who were convicted of murder/rape were male? Isn't there some kind of research saying males have MORE tendencies towards violence? I don't think that Corporations or Companies or even Hollywood is to blame. I think that YOU, the parents and grandparents are. How much time do you spend with your kids? According to you, it is "30 seconds of meaningful conversation". Wow, that is some screwed up relation you got. And another bit of ignorant research. I have a lot to talk about with my parents. We get at LEAST 20 minutes in. I think you guys should do a bit more research. Check it out. I'm sure you'll be surprised at the amount of people who have healthy relationships with their parents. Parents and Grandparents Alliance is my enemy. I am strongly opposed to their pro-censorship lobbying campaign. I detest pro-censorship lobbying. I detest organizations that advocate censorship. Censorship is not the answer to violence or immorality in society. It undermines freedom of speech. Some people are pro-censorship only because they do not know the difference between reality and entertainment media. Parents and Grandparents Alliance is violating the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. A law in compliance with them badly hurts the entertainment communities, and ultimately the economy. That lobbying group is evil. They were deceived by an ancient media lie. -- Tedius Zanarukando
1) in the absence of evidence I have removed the links of this page to 'front groups' and 'industry funded organisation' 2) I can't find any ref for the quoted mission statement for the PGA or their link to AIM. While the evidence is there for the "Outraged Parents of America" unless the link is established the material should be separated as for two separate prjects/organisations -- bob
