In violation of State Department Protocols, Pete Hoekstra and Curt Weldon secretly met with Manucher Ghorbanifar, in Paris, Francee, July 2005. [1]
A Ghorbanifar associate, Fereidoun Mahdavi is identified as Weldon's Iranian exile 'Ali' in his book "Countdown to Terror: The Top-Secret Information That Could Prevent the Next Terrorist Attack on America ... and How the C.I.A. Has Ignored It". This meeting occurred just prior to Weldon's pushing of the Able Danger story, which in the end fizzled badly in Congressional Investigation.
Hoekstra and Hastert gave the green light to Anthony Shaffer's public declarations regarding Able Danger prior to his coming out. [2]
