Can a Democracy really remain a Democracy, if it does not adhere to its Constitution?

Must a representitive democracy adhere to the constitution if it wants to remain a representitive democracy?

Dear President Honorable George W. Bush,

Copied From:

12/17/01 The Daily Mining Gazette

Honoring God To the editor: American taxpayers are paying some $400,000 for the chaplain offices, so that chaplains are there to open the legislative sessions with a prayer to God for guidance, and even give guidance in the legislators' private lives. But in our schools, where the nation's future leaders' outlook on life is molded, the word God is forbidden. Our leaders should stop this shameful hypocrisy. The Founding Fathers believed in God, but did not want the new republic to discriminate against anyone because of one's religion, (the way to serve God), as it had occurred in England and many other countries. Separation of religion (Church) and state is not the same as separation of God and state. The religion of the Native Americans, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity all encourage people to honor and serve God, the maker of heaven and earth, but in different ways. Our God should be honored in our Constitution, as it is in the Declaration of Independence. That should put an end to these frivolous lawsuits, and allow prayers and even chaplains -- if taxpayers so desire -- for the school children

p.s.

Yes, much power behind those black robes, and many times not used to the good of the Country:

This time our Supreme Court made a right ruling in the pledge of allegiance, BUT again, they kept alive "the lawyers golden goose" frivolous law suits. The opinion was based on, hm, civil rights. As I read about it, Justice Rennquist said: "Participants promise fidelity to our flag and nation, not to any particular God, faith or church..---Wrong!!!

The Supreme Court could have ruled that that this kind of frivolous of law suits will not be accepted to the Supreme Court. And Justice Rennquist should admit that the words:`"ONE NATION UNDER GOD" were included in the Pledge to honor one PARTICULAR GOD, whom the Founding Fathers called "Supreme Judge of the of the world." Has the Supreme Court forgotten that?

How gullible have we, the American people been, to let this happen to our Country, while watching the downward sliding of morality from the corporate headquarters to the school systems! What harm could anyone find in the permission of teaching of God and morality to children, as their outlook on life is being molded, at kindergarten and on in a Judeo-Christian country? If hundreds and even thousands of E-letters and phone calls would reach the White House and the Congress Representatives, it would surely make a difference..Why not be a part of it, by sending the above letter in your name, or your own thoughts on. -This would really be for God and Country.....
