Okay, guess the simple answer is that wonkage is something produced by a "wonk" - English Language: What is a Wonk?, Stanford University:

• "a wonk is a pretty dorky sort who studies endlessly and winds up full of facts with little real knowledge."

Therefore, does "wonkage" = "garbage" ?
