Background on Plant

PEL Power received environmental clearance for the 1,050 MW coal-fired power station in 2010. According to PEL Power's website, the three units have a planned commissioning date by the end of 2015.

The project reported the following steps toward development:

• Indigenous Coal linkage in place.
• FSA for Indonesian Coal under finalization.
• Captive Jetty for Coal.
• Tender Documents under finalization.
• Bids for Jetty, External CHP and Intake/Outfall System will be floated.
• Drawal of sea water as approved by TNMB.

The company solicited bids in 2010. However, as of April 2015 there is no evidence that the project has progressed since late 2010, and it appears that it has been abandoned.
