Hi L Durnan, thanks for extending the LM materials - one question, do you disagree that spiked is probably an IoI operation? they certainly share the same address and the same contributors, and promote the same ideas. -- Gangle ---

Hi Laurence -- great work disentangling the labyrinth of LM and its satellites. ----Bob Burton 21:42, 7 Sep 2004 (EDT)

-- Hi Laruence, there were a few edits 11 Sept by 213.48.36.51 that it would be worth you having a look at, cheers -- --Bob Burton 06:40, 11 Sep 2004 (EDT)

Laurence, I agree with you re. ABD. I find Brian's rebuttal convincing as he doesn't seem to know what LM is at all: he thinks that he's being accused of being a communist.

Re. IoI/Spiked, I'd go with your description, i.e. Spiked and IoI are both descendents of LM. It's probably worth pointing out explicitly that they share the same address (previously the address of Informinc, I believe)? --Gangle 09:19, 13 Sep 2004 (EDT)

Hi, Laurence...I saw your query to Bob Burton and thought I'd answer it here. (I also put this comment on Bob's talk page.)

Regarding naming conventions, I think we should follow the same conventions as Wikipedia.

Regarding MediaWiki categories, this capabillity didn't exist in our version of the MediaWiki software until I upgraded last weekend. Categorization certainly is encouraged, now that the software supports it! (In fact, that's one of the reasons I wanted to do the upgrade.) --Sheldon Rampton 00:52, 1 Dec 2004 (EST)

Hello Laurence, I translated your little article about the National Animal Interest Alliance on http://de.veganwiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl/National_Animal_Interest_Alliance - thank you!

Hi Laurence...regarding your question about the SourceWatch look changing back to the old look, this happened to me once too after I edited the user profile. I'm not sure why it is happening, but you should be able to get back to the new look if you go back into your user preferences and select "MonoBook" as your skin. --Sheldon Rampton 09:52, 1 Dec 2004 (EST)

Hello Laurence, thanks for your message. I noticed you already started categorizing a lot of people in the 'LM Group'. In that category, people are now sorted by their surname (e.g. 'Kate Abley' is sorted under 'K' instead of 'A'). To prevent this, you can add "|<surname>, <first name>" just before the 2 closing brackets like [[Category:LM group|Abley, Kate]]. For the main item in a category like the article LM Group in your case, you can add a space instead of the surname/first name (so that would be: [[Category:LM group| ]]) to have that article as the first one in the category. As an example, you could look at this category at Wikipedia. Bonzai 19:20, 1 Dec 2004 (EST)

Wow, that's quick. Since categories are new here, the only big category will serve as a prototype, so it's important to get it right before other categories are made in a similar way. Changing 50 articles takes some time, but changing a few thousand is quite a burden. So thank you for getting this right quickly. Bonzai 19:45, 2 Dec 2004 (EST)

Categories

Moving Category:Presidents of the United States to the newly created Category:Politicians (US) is a logic step, so thanks for doing that. Since that last category didn't exist when I created the POTUS category, I placed it in 'fundamental' because at that time there was no other category in which it could fit.
