Ved P. Nanda

Ved P. Nanda "is Thompson G. Marsh Professor of Law and Director of the International Legal Studies Program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Since 1992, he has served as John Evans University Professor and since 1994, as Vice Provost for the University. Professor Nanda has received numerous awards, including the World Legal Scholar Award from the World Jurist Association in Beijing, China, and the Outstanding Scholar award from the University of Denver. Soka University in Japan and Bundelkhand University in India have awarded him honorary doctorates in Law. He was selected the University Lecturer in 1982 and serves on the editorial boards of several prestigious scholarly journals. In 2007, the Ved Nanda Center for International Law was established at the Sturm College of Law.

"Currently, Professor Nanda is Honorary President of the World Jurist Association, Honorary Vice President of the International Law Association – American Branch, an Elected Member of the American Law Institute and the International Academy of Commercial and Consumer Law, and an Associate Member of the International Academy of Comparative Law. He is a council member of the American Bar Association Section on International Law and Practice and serves on the Board of ABA's Center for Human Rights. He has also served as U.S. Delegate to the World Federation of the United Nations Association and Vice Chair of its Executive Committee, and on the Board of Governors of the United Nations Association – USA, and as Vice President and Counselor of the American Society of International Law.
